Message from
2008-2009 District 78 Governor, Arlene Pearsall, DTM
Our International President, Jana Barnhill, called on Monday night, July
13, to officially recognize our District for achieving
Distinguished Status. She asked me to convey her
congratulations to each of you for working as a team to
make this possible.
Distinguished
Status
is based on four critical success factors. These are clubs, members,
Competent Communicators, and Advanced Communicators.
The goals that TI set for us in July 2008 were
(1) to
increase our total number of clubs from 108 to 111,
(2) to increase our total membership payments by 76 from 3800
to 3876 payments;
(3) to
achieve a total of 133 Competent Communicator awards;
and (4) to achieve 38 Advanced Communicator awards. We exceeded our
membership payments by 76 and our CCs and ACs by 44 and
40, respectively.
The foundation for our success this past year was laid by
our previous District Governors, especially
Mary Lou Hermes
(2006-07) and
Bonnie Steiner
(2007-08). Under their leadership we inched closer and
closer toward achieving those annual goals.
For our success this year,
Brian Logsdon,
Michele
Blumhagen, and
I thank
you for working with us and supporting us in our efforts
to increase the number of clubs, to strengthen our
membership numbers, and to improve the quality of our
educational program. You gave us the
Courage to Conquer
our goal of becoming a Distinguished District.
Arlene Pearsall,
DTM
